Cisco serial numbers follow a specific format: LLLYYWWSSSS. Here’s a breakdown of the components:
- LLL: Location of the supplier
- YY: Year of manufacture
- WW: Week of manufacture
- SSSS: Serial ID
For example, in the serial number SAD20300D4W, 20 represents the year code (2016), and 30 represents the week code (week 30 – July).
The year codes correspond to the following years:
- 01 = 1997
- 02 = 1998
- 03 = 1999
- 04 = 2000
- 05 = 2001
- 06 = 2002
- …………..
- 26 = 2022
- 27 = 2023
- 28 = 2024
- …and so on…
The week codes correspond to the following months:
- 1-5: January
- 6-9: February
- 10-14: March
- 15-18: April
- 19-22: May
- 23-27: June
- 28-31: July
- 32-35: August
- 36-40: September
- 41-44: October
- 45-48: November
- 49-52: December
